Dr. David Mann, Artistic Director
Dr. David Mann is delighted to begin his seventh season as artistic director of Voce Chamber Singers. Under Dr. Mann’s leadership, Voce has expanded its focus on historically marginalized voices, led grant-funded performances in partnership with local music educators, and continued to commission new works for choir. Recent projects with Voce include a world premiere of In Paradisum for chamber orchestra and choir by Z. Randall Stroope (2025), a performance of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Great Falls Philharmonic (2026), and an invitation to performing alongside Josh Groban and the National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts (2026). Under Dr. Mann’s direction, Voce was recognized by NBC4 Washington (2021), named as a finalist for the American Prize in Choral Performance (2023) and nominated for the “Best Chamber Choir in the Greater Washington Area” by Choralis Foundation (2024).
Dr. Mann earned a DMA in Choral Conducting from the University of Maryland where he taught undergraduate conducting and prepared choirs for collaborations with the National Symphony Orchestra and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. As a vocalist, he has performed with the Washington Bach Consort and Oregon Bach Festival. As a former high school choral director, he continues to serve as an adjudicator, clinician, and presenter for K-12 choral programs in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
He currently serves as the Director of Music at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington and resides in McLean, Virginia with his wife Anna and their three children.
Dr. Trevor Tran, Guest Artistic Director
Trevor Tran is a conductor and educator based in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Throughout his time in the DMV, he has led a diverse range of choral ensembles, held leadership roles within several music organizations, and prepared choruses for performances with both the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Through these collaborations, he has worked under distinguished conductors including Laurence Equilbey, Jonathon Heyward, Ton Koopman, Gianandrea Noseda, and Masaaki Suzuki.
Prior to relocating to the Washington, D.C., region, Trevor served as Head of Performing Arts and Director of Vocal Arts at Fort Myers High School in Southwest Florida. Under his leadership, the school’s choral ensembles earned top ratings at district and state music performance assessments and were selected for auditioned productions such as the Disney Candlelight Processional. In recognition of his work there, he was named a 2023 Yamaha “40 Under 40” Music Educator and a 2024 Temple University “30 Under 30” Artistic Visionary.
Besides being an educator, Trevor is a published composer where his works have been sung by ensembles and organizations including Resounding Achord, CORO, Choral Arts Initiative, and San José State University. Additionally, Trevor is an active clinician and presenter where he has led sessions at state, regional, and national conferences for organizations such as the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Maryland Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition from San José State University, concurrent Master of Music degrees in Choral Conducting and Music Composition from Temple University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Neil Weston, Keyboard Artist
Neil Weston enjoys a distinguished career as an organist, conductor, composer and educator. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, he emigrated to the United States in early 2000.
He serves as the Ceremonial Organist at Arlington National Cemetery, where he plays on a daily basis in the historic Old Post Chapel. He is also Choral Director and Keyboard Artist at Temple Sinai in Washington, DC.
He served for many years as the Keyboard Artist and Interim Conductor of the Alexandria Choral Society, and was, for three seasons, the Assistant Director and Keyboard Artist for Choralis.
A graduate of the University of London and the Royal Academy of Music, he has taught at institutions on both sides of the Atlantic, including several years as a member of the Music Faculty at George Washington University.
As an organist and pianist he has played professionally on five continents, and his work appears on over a dozen commercial recordings across the globe. As a conductor, The Washington Post complimented the "rapt performance under Neil Weston's baton" of the U.S. premier of the Requiem by internationally renowned composer Bob Chilcott.

Voce Board of Directors
Our all-volunteer Board of Directors includes singers from all sections and Voce supporters. The Board is responsible for managing Voce’s operational needs and outreach goals. This year’s members include:
