Hailed by The Washington Post as "Northern Virginia's premier choral ensemble," the Voce Chamber Singers are known throughout the DC metropolitan area for dynamic programming and high standards of musical excellence. The ensemble is comprised of music professionals and experienced singers from the surrounding communities, and our performances seek to share the transformative power of great choral music with audiences throughout our region. Founded in 1989 by Carol Hunter, the group is now under the direction of David Mann, who became the Artistic Director in 2020.
Voce has gained national recognition for its commitment to commissioning new works by leading American composers. The group premiered its most recent commission, Stephen Caracciolo's "in the rain," in April 2016. This work, along with other Voce commissions and a cappella works of Brahms, Grieg, Gorecki, Hindemith, and others, is featured on our latest CD, Encounters: A Portrait of Voce. During the pandemic, we are presenting a series of "Virtual Voce" online broadcasts of new repertoire, highlighting the versatility of our singers and their dedication to high-level chorale performance even in these troubled times.
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in obtaining a copy of our CD, Encounters: A Portrait of Voce, as copies are not available elsewhere online.
We look forward to seeing you at our concerts when we are able to resume in-person performances!
