Voce performs an annual series of three subscription concerts in Fairfax County. Each concert is presented twice—on Friday nights at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Reston, and on Sunday afternoons at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Vienna. Both venues feature ample free parking and handicapped accessibility.
Our performances offer audience members a uniquely intimate and engaging concert experience. During concerts, our artistic director, Dr. Richard Giarusso, offers lively commentary on the music performed, and audience members are frequently invited to greet our performers and composers during post-concert receptions. This year, we will give audience members some new and “up close” perspectives on our singing by exploring non-traditional ways of using the space in our concert venues and by enhancing our performances with some modest elements of staging and movement.
Whether a piece of music is a thousand years old or brand new, the moment in which it is heard in performance is one which can never be recreated again in exactly the same way. We seek to capture that sense of immediacy and excitement in all of the music that we perform, and we aspire in our concerts to offer a memorable and multi-faceted experience that will delight the ear, enrich the soul, and enliven the spirit. Please join us.
